The Alcove

My inspiration in this richly textured still life comes from the study of light, form and shadow. Through controlled brushwork and blended colors the subject is brightly illuminated creating a warm, inviting effect. An earth-toned palette is selected to accentuate the surface texture as well as create interest in a rather austere subject matter.
